February 2019 is National Cancer Prevention Month, a time to reflect on the many ways we can help keep the dreaded “Big C” at bay. According to the American Institute of Cancer Research (AICR), up to one-third of all cancers in the U.S. is preventable. The AICR says watching your weight, exercising, avoiding sugar, and limiting red meat can go a long way in helping to keep you cancer-free. That’s encouraging when you consider the death rate from cancer in the U.S. has declined over the past 20 years based on research from American Cancer Society researchers.
